Recap

The All-Out Fall-Out

First let's just start with the facts.  Free agency is over and LeBron James and Chris Bosh have chosen to join D-Wade in Miami.  And then there's everyone else.  We all knew that Bosh was going to join one of these guys so let's not even waste time talking about him.  The story, like everyone wanted, is James.  Now, I'm not surprised that LeBron made a cowardly choice, because if you've ever read any of my articles you know that I've been telling you for the last 6 years that he is a coward - in life and on the court.  I was surprised, though, to see that he chose the route that would make him someone else's lackey.

The 2009-2010 NBA Playoffs are in the books and surprise surprise, Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers are standing on top of the basketball world again. Now, I could sit here and tell everyone that I told you so, seeing how I was spot on with 3 of 4 Conference Finalists, 100% accurate on my Finals teams, the number of games, and most importantly, the winner. But as you all know, I’m not the kind of guy that brags about those kinds of things. So let’s just get take a few moments to reflect on what went down this year and then present “Drew’s NBA Playoff Slammy Awards”.

What we “witnessed”…

Celtics fans and media members do their best to put a positive spin on the events of last night. I say, screw that, and it is ok to be bitter over last night's loss. I'm not here to make excuses, just present the facts without trying not to not make excuses. Got it?

Here's what we know. Game 7, the odds were against the Celtics. Without Perkins, they were dominated in game 6. Game 7 they came out with an early disadvantage on the boards and that theme continued all night. The Lakers shot the ball atrociously and yet hung close as they basically dominated the glass and every other stat in the 1st half.

LeBron is a Wuss

"CLEVELAND -- LeBron James pulled his right arm tightly to his chest, unable to do anything but grimace as the final seconds expired on Cleveland's series-clinching win."... He then ran into the burning locker room and rescued a kid and his puppy. When he was done he grabbed a Sprite, with his left arm, and chugged it with his man-child body.

I don't even know if LeBron endorses Sprite but that first half is how ESPN.com recapped the game. Seriously? Who are we worshiping out there, and what for? For those who didn't watch the game, or watched it and didn't even notice that LeBron shot a free-throw with his left hand, missing both, LeBron injured his arm and when up by 4 with a dozen seconds to go, maybe, he went to the line and shot left-handed!?

Grinding Drew's Gears

Yes, its back SOS fans, my grinds my gears column.  And to pop this year’s cherry, I’m going to start with ignorant sports fans.  A number of fans and, including some of my friends, started the “LeBron is better than Kobe” nonsense after the Cavs 102-87 win over LA on Christmas.  Funny how last season these same people were riding the LeBronze train even after Kobe and the Lakers demolished the Cavs at home and then went into the Q and handed them their first home loss of the season.  Please if you’re going to be ignorant, at least be consistently ignorant.  If you actually watched the game and know anything about basketball you would have noticed four key factors that would disprove your stupidity.
