The Super Bowl attracts so many people around the world, not because of the 1 game Championship style format or the level of talent on the field, but the people can all find reason to watch this game, and that comes from the ridiculous bets that Vegas and other Odds Makers put out for Sunday's game.
They start simple, such as Will the Coin Flip be Heads or tails?
The basic spread, money line, and Over/Under and the same as well. Things start to get interesting though as we do cross-sport bets and although Brian usually gives his advice. I wanted to give my advice on some of these absurd lines that could keep you interested in Sunday's game. These are all real bets.
Who Will have More Points? LeBron -5.5(Sat. Night vs Knicks) or Saints Offense? The Game is not at MSG so LeBron will be good for 24 points. I'm taking the Saints in this bet. 1 Defensive TD, and 3 Offensive TDs, mix in a FG and the saints might still lose. LeBron could even sit out the 4th quarter if its a blow out.
Who Will have more? Marques Colston Receiving Yards or Rory Mcllroy 4th Round Score at Dubai? Ok, assuming I know nothing about golf and lets say this is the worst remaining golfer who has mad the cut. He won't hit more than 85 on Sunday. Meanwhile Colston is a likely candidate for 4 catches 85 yards. The fact that Colston is getting +0.5 is strange. I'm taking Colston.
Lee Westwood 4th Round Score or Joseph Addai rushing yards (+4.5)? This spread isn't high enough for Addai. He needs to go ahead and rush for 80 yards against a solid defense although giving up 122 yards to AP last week and 87 to Hightower the previous week. That means nothing though when Addai has run for a high of 79 yards all season. So Westwood hits 65 and Addai rushes for 60 yards.
Arsenal+Chelsea Goals or Drew Brees TD Passes (+0.5)? I don't know much about soccer, but I do know that scoring is impossible to come by in a EPL game, right? And Drew Brees will throw for at least 1 TD. So Take Drew Brees. Realistically, Brees throws for 3 TDs.
Tyreke Evans points or Drew Brees Completions (+3.5)? This is easy money. Evans is averaging 20.5 ppg, he plays for the Kings, they are playing a good Raptors team. Brees will have 26 completions and Evans will have 17 points.
Ohio State Points or Dallas Clark Receving Yards (+3.5)? Simply put, Ohio State is in the Big 10. The Big 10 is not known for scoring although they are averaging 75 ppg this year. Clark is the focal point of this Colts Offense. Take Clark.
Will both teams make a FG of 33 yards or more? No.
How Many times will CBS Show Archie Manning? O/U 4? They will show him after every TD and if the Colts Win. Thats 4. Get me one more time and its a sure thing.
How Many times will CBS Show Kim Kardashian? O/U 2.5? Under. Its a family show folks.
How long will it take Carrie Underwood to sing the National Anthem? O/U 102 seconds? Last year went 2 minutes. This year will be close. Take the over.
Which is greater? Kim Kardashian measurements (34-26-39) or Reggie Bush total yards (+38.5)? So can Bush accumulate 61 yards? I mean they are handicapping Bush for the size of Kim's ass. That is a big ass to overcome. Take Kim.
