How I won the worst Fantasy Match, Ever

It's not every week that a 50-point fantasy football effort is worth cheering about, but this week was different. Going into Monday night's game I held a slight 35-34 edge in the Battle of the Brains with Percy Harvin left for my team and LaDainian Tomlinson left for the foe. A toss up for bragging rights.

celebrate_super-bowlQuick background on this match up pitted the two most arrogant men, this side of Los Angeles. It was a rematch of last year' championship game in which my team got the win, thanks to Brett Favre's great second half effort in week 16. This week's match up was for pure bragging rights. My team, strugging at 2-2, versus Adam Richman look-a-like at 4-0.

Fast forward to the second half as my team trailed, thanks to Brett Favre's soggy and damp excuse for a pigskin. Maybe Jenn Sterger was on his mind, but he wasn't doing me any good. Texts came flying in as the third quarter started, claiming victory and 5-0 without even eclipsing 50 fantasy points. I trailed going into the 4th quarter, also preparing myself for a humiliating loss and a bevy of excuses, and then it happened.

TOUCHDOWN! HARVIN!!!

'hehe' was the only text I sent. I figured just claimed victory, but I quickly thought of 2007 Super Bowl and Randy Moss giving the Patriots the lead and decided not to brag, yet. After all, plenty of things could happen, including a rushing touchdown.

Sure enough, a rushing touchdown came. Thankfully it was Shonn Greene. I was hovering under 50 points and still winning this fantasy match somehow? To make the victory look a bit more respectable, Harvin dialed in another touchdown catch, putting me over the 50-point total and sealing victory, 56-44, bumping me up to 3-2 and Richman down to 4-1.

Aside from Harvin, my top scorer was my kicker, Nate Kaeding, and no other player, not even Peyton Manning, had a touchdown. It was strategy to sit Jeremy Maclin in favor of Harvin, just so that Harvin and Favre could team up and stick it to my buddy yet again. I am a genius and I'm not afraid to tell everyone.

Victory! I know it's only week 5, but this is my Super Bowl. Never will anyone win a fantasy match up scoring 56 points against an undefeated opponent, this late into the season. Need Fantasy advice? Let me know.
