Ray and Reggie

Reggie Miller and Ray Allen have more in common than just appearing in a film with Denzel Washington. Reggie did "Forget Paris", a horrible romantic comedy about an NBA ref played by Billy Crystal, and Ray Allen did the "Harvard Man", a horrible movie about basketball and the mob, with Sarah Michelle Gellar. When they aren't tuning their acting skills, Reggie Miller and Ray Allen can be compared on the court, in particular their shooting abilities.

Ray-and-Reggie

It took Reggie 300 more games to accumulate his 3-point numbers that Ray recently surpassed. That's 3.5 more seasons, and by the looks of it, Ray may not get to that number. He probably won't catch Reggie on total points either. By season's end he should be 3000 points behind Reggie. Aside from that number, these two players' numbers seem identical.

Career wise they both shot 40% from beyond the arc (Ray shot slightly better at .398 while Reggie was at .395), and they both shot 89% from the line (Ray shot slightly better at .893 while Reggie was at .888). Ray averages just over 20 ppg, while Reggie averaged over 18. The numbers go on and on with these two and how similar their games were, except for the fact that they weren't.

Reggie Miller has that villain persona. Or maybe he has that littleĀ punk brother persona thanks to Cheryl always being near by andĀ bossing him around, or so it seems that way whenever I see her on TNT? Reggie was a vocal, yet immature, leader, if there was such a thing. We all know his antics and charades and his accolades, but we will always remember him as Cheryl's brother.

Meanwhile, there is Ray Allen. He is quiet and reserved, which is completely different than his role as Jesus Shuttlesworth. Ray is a different player. His mom does all the yelling, not his muscle-T sister, but who's mom doesn't cheer their son on at sporting events? Ray never made choking gestures towards fans or got into on the sideline with others. He just goes about his business each and every night.

This makes Ray a better player overall, and a better actor. JESUS!
