White Chocolate Retires

The NBA said goodbye to one of its flashiest players of the past decade-plus when Jason Williams of the Memphis Grizzlies announced his retirement today. The announcement came on the heels of a 12-year career which featured some of the best passes you will see on a consistent basis.

Jason WilliamsJason Williams ushered in a new wave of streetball with his no-look passes and flashy spins. He could feed a ball through the smallest of holes and had a great vision of all teammates on the court. If you weren't looking you were bound to get a ball off the face. And just in case you didn't think he could drive right by you, Jason Williams had one of the quickest first steps and crossovers, making some of the best defenders look silly.

After being drafted as the 7th overall pick in the 1998 draft out of Florida by the Sacramento Kings , Jason Williams was traded to the innagural Memphis Grizzlies team with Nick Anderson for Mike Bibby and Brent Price. J-Will ended his his career with them after signing on February 7. He played just 21 games for the Grizzlies, averaging just 11 minutes, 2 points and 2.5 assists per game.

Regardless of his numbers, he will be remembered for his exciting style of play, consistently making top plays on various sports highlight shows. Whether you were a guard or a center and you played basketball, you tried making a Jason Williams move at one time in your life.
