Back to Your Dull Lives

Today I woke up showered, ate breakfast and continued my daily monotonous workday streak of a boring “real world” morning. Thankfully, this helped LeBron James sleep last night. In case you haven’t heard his post-game comments following the Miami Heat’s Game 6 loss to the now-NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks, here are the goods:

Celtics Season Recap

Welp, that was ugly. I am going to say that that was also somewhat predictable. Celtics were like +500 for the series, for those that bet... in Vegas. The media wrote this team off in January, because their too old. It's not that 34 and 35 are old, it's just that LeBron James is 26. Most of the Boston media is still searching for a blame aside from age, but they aren't coming up with anything. Well, I am here to set the record straight, and throwing everyone under the bus.

Phil Jackson is Not Great

Phil Jackson is on the verge of becoming the next Breff Favre. Will he come or will he go. Here's a question, though. Who Cares? Really, does it matter if he is 335 games over .500 in his career as a coach? Does it matter that he has 11 NBA Championships? He's a mediocre coach.

White Chocolate Retires

The NBA said goodbye to one of its flashiest players of the past decade-plus when Jason Williams of the Memphis Grizzlies announced his retirement today. The announcement came on the heels of a 12-year career which featured some of the best passes you will see on a consistent basis.

Bynum Missle

Is Los Angeles Lakers' head coach Phil Jackson serious with his comments regarding Andrew Bynum's suspension? Bynum was suspended two games for his hit to Michael Beasley on Friday as Beasley went up to the basket. Bynum's foul was more of an NFL hit than an NBA move. If anything he got off easily, and now Phil Jackson is questioning it?

Green Heads

Trading fan favorites is never easy.  Even though I suspected it was for the best, at the time, it was still tough seeing hard-working athletes leave teams I rooted for.  Seeing Johnny Damon and Pedro Martinez go to New York teams sucked.  Even though Al Jefferson’s departure meant acquiring Kevin Garnett (and No. 18), I knew I would miss watching Big Al work the post.  I still wish the Pats would’ve kept Willie McGinest from ending his distinguished career with the lowly Brownies.

That was Dumb

While a lot of teams are rejoicing, Boston Celtics fans are wondering what just happened as they saw Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson shipped out the door for essentially nothing in return. Let me take you to the scene right after Game 7 of the NBA Finals last year against the Los Angeles Lakers when Doc Rivers said something to the extent that there was a certain starting five that has never lost a series and how he was looking forward to next year. Of course he was referring to Kendrick Perkins' absence in Game 7, but now they will most certainly be without Perkins come this year's playoffs.

Ray and Reggie

Reggie Miller and Ray Allen have more in common than just appearing in a film with Denzel Washington. Reggie did "Forget Paris", a horrible romantic comedy about an NBA ref played by Billy Crystal, and Ray Allen did the "Harvard Man", a horrible movie about basketball and the mob, with Sarah Michelle Gellar. When they aren't tuning their acting skills, Reggie Miller and Ray Allen can be compared on the court, in particular their shooting abilities.
