2011-12 NBA Predictions

Howard BynumAfter a prolonged offseason the Players and Owners found middle ground, put their differences aside and agreed upon a new CBA deal guaranteeing a shortened 66 game schedule of devilish NBA basketball.

Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki left his German party goers behind, Lebron's balling more-tweeting less, and Vanessa Bryant has finally lasted 10 years with Kobe which entitles her to at least half his career earnings via divorce (I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing for Celtics fans).

So without further ado let's run through some preseason notes and predictions for the upcoming season.

NBA Mock Draft 1.0

The NBA Lottery was the other night so we have a better idea of where some of the players will land. Actually, this is the worst draft class ever and it'll be interesting to see how many first round trades are made. Here are my initial thouhgts on how the pieces will fall.

NBA Draft Mock 0.5

With the NFL draft over it is now time to look ahead to the NBA draft. Much like the NFL, the NBA is expected to experience a work stoppage. The draft is June 23rd and the Collective Bargaining Agreement ends July 1st. After that it is anyone's guess as to when we will see the NBA again. The biggest issue facing the CBA this year is that owners want a hard cap to prevent superstar players from fleeing to major market teams and abandoning smaller teams. There is no way the players budge for a hard cap. The draft lottery is scheduled for 2 weeks from now on May 17th so the current order is based on record.

NBA All-Star Snubs

Did the NBA get it right when picking this year's NBA All-Star reserves including four Boston Celtics players? We can only blame ourselves, or the ignorant fan base, for the starters, but even then, it's not like Yao Ming is taking someone's place. He will be replaced and someone will be substituted in. But could this be the year that the NBA doesn't have any snubs for this exhibition game?

Where Anticipation Happens…

NBA 2010-11 Season Preview

We are on the brink of one of the most highly anticipated seasons in the history of the NBA.  I can guarantee that even people who loathe today's version of professional basketball will be tuned in on Tuesday night to the showdown between the Boston Celtics and Miami Three.. uh I mean Heat.  It will be the first time that we'll see the Miami super team of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh in action, as well as the new look Celtics and their additions, namely Shaquille O'Neal.  And on deck,  only the start of the Quest for the Three Peat as the L.A. Lakers open up their season against the Houston Rockets and the return of Yao Ming.  And that's just opening night!
