Is Carmelo Becoming a Nuisance?

Carmelo Anthony is going to the Toronto Raptors. I don't really know anything anymore, nor did I ever know much, I just pretended, but this Carmelo Anthony trade thing needs to end. In fact, can we put something in writing that this stuff will not happen anymore? I'm talking about players acting like LeBron James.

carmelo-anthonyWe get it, athletes can be arrogant and self-righteous, but this stuff just goes too far some times. There was LeBron James, but he wasn't the first, he just took it to a new level, and now he is advising Carmelo Anthony on how to handle his business? Sports are going to hell in a handbag, assuming it hasn't already. I don't care what athletes make for salaries, because they are worth every penny, but this is a new level of egoism.

Carmelo Anthony will or won't be traded, and his is asking for the farm in return. The Nets proposed to trade four first-round picks and other scrap metal for Anthony? Wait, for what reason? What has Carmelo done? It's not the Nets who are giving up everything, rather it is Carmelo who is holding them hostage to make the deal. It's a horrible deal period and makes no sense but regardless, I am not one to judge his worth, but I will judge the way he goes about his work. He is the lead story on every show and before you know it your mothers will be asking you about this 'Melo guy.

It won't reach LeBron status in terms of arrogance unless he puts hats in front of him during a 30-minute presentation to make his pick, but he could make this a lot easier if he just said that he would sign an extension with one particular team. Oh, he did that already? Well the Nets didn't get the memo, so maybe he should just put the Knicks on notice and create a deadline. Wait, he did that too? And it came and went? Well I give up.

I just hope that this ends before the actual trade deadline, and that we don't have to hear about it for 3 years, assuming he signs an extension. Because if he doesn't sign an extension during the trade, then what the hell was the point of all this? I can see it happening though, a trade happening, just to happen, and Carmelo doesn't sign because he could get a few extra million in the off-season.
