Earthquake

I understand this isn't the 1989 World Series, but it is still a damn earthquake that rattled through Petco Park last night. No one is making a big deal of it though. Sure ESPN Sportscenter tonight will do a top 10 segment for top 10 earthquakes at sporting events, which I doubt that there is even more than 3, and #1 will be the 1989 World Series, but these fans last night were treated to something special.

Heath_Bell_fist_pumpLast night's quake was a 5.7-magnitude and the one in '89 was a 6.9, but anything over 5.0 is just wild. Imagine being in the upper deck at Petco when that thing starts shaking. What's more baffling is that there were enough fans to spill into the upper deck for last night's Blue Jays vs Padres game.

Everything I learned about Earthquakes, I learned from Saved by the Bell.

What a great time in my life. Don't think that I don't walk around New England with a leather jacket and a bike helmet because I have a motorcycle.

Another oddity of last night was that Joe John Buck hit two homeruns. Writers afterwards joked that Buck's power from his bat triggered the homeruns.

Reporters today and their jokes. Don't they know anything, it was actually Kyle Blanks and Heath Bell doing a chest bump in the clubhouse.
